Breeze Airways is bolstering its service in Florida this winter. The Utah-based low-cost carrier, which commenced service in 2021<\/a>, unveiled its latest expansion Tuesday, with four new routes to the Sunshine State.<\/p>\n

Between December and February, Breeze will expand its footprint at Orlando International Airport (MCO) with three new routes \u2014 each from smaller U.S. cities.<\/p>\n

Plus, the carrier will launch a new nonstop to Tampa International Airport (TPA) from Erie, Pennsylvania, just as it prepares to launch service<\/a> from the Keystone State city this fall.<\/p>\n

“We’re connecting the dots between some of our existing cities with these exciting new routes, all of them previously unserved,” Breeze CEO David Neeleman said in a statement announcing the news.<\/p>\n

Breeze’s new service in Florida \u2014 particularly Orlando \u2014 comes amid a year that’s seen a handful of U.S. carriers temper their growth or outright pull back<\/a> in the region in the face of surging competition.<\/p>\n

This winter, between October and the end of March, the total number of seats on domestic flights to Orlando will be down 2.4%, year-over-year \u2014 and by more than 10% from two years ago.<\/p>\n
