Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways’ famously outspoken CEO, will resign from the airline, according to multiple reports surfacing Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Al Baker plans to leave in early November, Bloomberg reported<\/a>, citing a memo sent to airline staff.<\/p>\n

The reason for the resignation or its timing was not clear, and a representative for Qatar Airways did not immediately return a request for comment.<\/p>\n

Al Baker, who has been at the airline’s helm for nearly three decades, helped oversee its growth as a major global carrier, connecting regions across the world via its hub in Doha, Qatar (Al Baker is also the CEO of Doha’s Hamad International Airport).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
